OT: Taiwan subject seem to twitch some emotions. I only brought up the Taiwan name to illustrate a potential blind side to the financial market health.

I am neutral on the issue as I have never believe that there is any percentage to politics or war.

Having a good view of both Taiwan and China, the surface and the sub-surface, and having relatives working with and for both sides, leads me to conclude that the dream is just that and only that.

Taiwan's life blood is gushing and flowing to China, in the form of capacity for textiles, chemicals, construction, chip making and properties. The smaller outfits are moving $ openly, and the big outfits are doing it by proxy.

The KMT bigwigs are spearheading the signing of contracts, and the work is being farmed out to their buddies who can not get cushy contracts with the new Taiwan administration. Many of these contracts are signed with the CCP bigwigs' relations in cosy arrangements.

President Chen is not and will not be allowed to become dangerous to the flow, and he knows it. Believe Taiwan will go of its own accord and believe 'they' already know schedule, plus or minus a few years. Taiwan is literally being bought with their own money, which in turn are generated from sales of motherboards and chips. The panic is definitely felt in Taiwan.

Japanese fabs are moved across the strait probably in partial anticipation as well.

The Taiwan administration will 'lose' Taiwan in the same way and for the same reasons they lost the mainland - selfishness, corruption, disunity. The mainland administration will 'win' Taiwan in the same way they won the mainland - the will to power. The underlying political issues are really quite irrelevant to either side and both are as corrupt as any political organization in the world, with only the Washington Post and NY Times able to make sense out of nonsense.
