Only an idiot would think a 43% plurality or a 49% plurality would be a mandate for anything. Maybe you should go back to IHOP to work. Reagan had a significant majority in 1984. He didn't come on his first term until the economy started to recover in 82-83.

Unfortunately, we'll never know who won the popular vote. 2.5 to 3 million votes were never counted. No evidence of wrongdoing in FL has been found in an investigation conducted by a Clinton/Gore Department of "Justice". The Supreme Court decision lends legitimacy. We have a long tradition of adherence to the rule of law in this country. Finally, the US Constitution (ever read it?) specifically sets up a procedure whereby the President is indirectly elected in the EC as opposed to direct popular vote. hence, a finally tally is not relevant. Bottom line. Gore lost! You and the other sore losers need to get over it and start thinking about what is best for this country. JLA
