Funny, because no part of the Per Curium majority opinion reflects more than 5 judges joining in the majority. And the dissents do not say "concurring in part and dissenting in part" as they normally would when the dissenters join the majority opinion in any way.

It was 5-4. And the 4 dissents were among the most scathing dissents ever written in 200+ years of Supreme Court jurisprudence. I guess you guys count Supreme Court votes the way you count presidential votes -- with your thumb on the scale for Bush.

He may be the president in January, but to be president-elect, it helps to actually win. I consider him to be President-appoint.

OT OT OT: I have a question about tax selling. I have 3 stocks that have gone to nothing. 2 of them show a per share value of $0. I have several hundred shares of those 2. The other went through a reverse split (one thousand to one). I now have 3 shares of this @ $0.005 (yeah one half cent). I have held these 3 "companies" for over one year. I need the writeoff because I sold one earlier this year after holding it for about 10 months. If I sell the losers, they will offset approximately 1/3 of the gainer.

My question is this. Do I need to go through the motion of selling the losers? I don't even know if 2 of them still trade.

Thanks to anyone in advance.

jl, this isn't necessarily directed toward you.
