Yah, you and the folks who knock on doors handing out tracts think Christmas trees are what Jeremiah was dissing. But no one today is worshipping their Christmas tree, unlike the pagans Jeremiah was writing about six hundred years before Christ. And those pagans would have been tribes known to Jeremiah, which leaves out Druids and other northern Europeans. It leaves out the Greeks, who wouldn't conquer Israel for a few hundred years. They most likely were Phoenicians or their Canaanite cousins, whose religious customs involved human sacrifice.
