"Still no CDMA contracts in China.
Meanwhile largest GPRS network in world is going in Southern China."

Marvin,

May I ask what other stocks are in your CORE SHORT holdings besides QCOM?

I'd to check out your Short portfolio because, I am sure, there are gems there that I may have missed.

Cheers,
Ibexx

Marvin there may be valid concerns about QCOM valuation's in this screwy market, but your view of Qcom's China's situation is incorect. SAWS,LU and others have had contracts signed and products already produced for CHINA. GRPS/EDGE are bandaids at best until 3G arrives, which as everyone has conceded will be using QCOM's WCDMA technology. Yes, I said Qcom's WCDMA technology, I wont argue with you on that point. I feel no need to convince anyone otherwize. If China wants to sell into ASIA/EUROPE/USA they will need to develop at least a 10-20Million CDMA network to allow suppliers, and producers to develop competitive products. Its just common sense, if you dont get it then please short away. If you really wan t to short sumthing look at RIMM/KO and a host of other stocks that are seriously overvalued. I will concede Qcom at 50-70 times 2001 E is not cheap. However it is a Microsofteen manopoly. It may be to expencive to buy, but it aint to expencive to short. But its your money!
