QCOM´s WCDMA? Its like saying MSFT is Apple´s technology. Sure there are IPR claims. There may be even some revenue for Q. But not much. If I´m not mistaken, the current theory on the thread (and generally on the market judging by the P/E ratio) goes like this: E, N, S, A et al sit peacefully at the table writing the standard for future global telecommunications. Q refuses to come in but scratches the doors, talks gobbelygook and makes a general nuisance of himself. What do the others do? They decide en masse to bake into the standard a bunch of indisputable IPR´s of Q that can not be economically circumvented. They take the magnum .44 and each one shoots himself on the foot. Come on, marginmike, even you are not that stupid. Furthermore, the supposed complete lack of logical thought of E, N, S, A does not stop here. See how desperately they are trying to strike a deal with Q? Like, er, not very desperately. Only E got it accidentally when taking over the infra. But before this they clearly and consistently denied of needing any of Qs IPR. In fact they seem not to be interested in it at all. These guys apparently are not interested at all in making any money with 3G. Oh, well. - rajala
