Paul, I will offer 3 possible reasons for the bounce. All conjecture of course: 1. Some shorts were taking profits to offset losses in other positions for the tax year. 2. Many shorts do not like to carry positions across year end in low cap stocks because of "January effect" bounces after tax loss selling is offer. (I am in this category) 3. Maybe some news is expected. Whatever triggered the rally, it was fed by short covering and by "doubling up" by the faithful longs.
