TP - 1m shares and its still only 11.00am. What gives with this kind of volume?

My guess is that it is hedge/professional shorts keeping up continuous selling in the hope of breaking the $29 5/8 barrier. Looks to me like they have been trying to break the stock for days but so far it has held $29. I guess they figure if they can bust $29 there will be a mass capitulation as the stock collapses to single digits. I assume that is the play.

I wish they would go away and start with some other stock.

Best regards,

L

Prophet, if you define the float as all the shares that are not closely held, then the float is probably in excess of 40 million shares, or roughly 20 times average daily volume. Under these conditions, when the short position averages about one day's trading volume, I can't see even the possibility of a short squeeze. I would LIKE to see that possibility though! I recognize that trading volume could be jacked up artificially by day traders and arbitragers, but if you look at the relatively steady day-to-day volume, that really doesn't appear to be the case.

At these prices, it would be awfully easy for a company or investment fund to take a major position in SNDK. That will become known only after we see a significant increase in daily trading volume over a period of several days. When that happens, as it very likely will, it will be a little late for individual investors to climb on board. One thing that is practically guaranteed is that Kodak, a logical buyer, is not sufficiently interested to buy anything except old fashioned imaging and related services that no one else wants.

Prophet, the shorts are rarely wrong, but when they are (RMBS for instance) they do it in a "grand manner" (G).
