I dont see PDA's driving as big a market as many believe.

Disagree with you on that point. Anecdotally, I have been using my Verizon cell phone to access my Etrade account. It works great. This is a huge convenience. I think applications like these and email and many others will catch on big.

mm- I dont see the benifit of Internet access for cell phones

Well I do. For instance my guess is that next year we will be abel to by notebooks with built in wireless modems to enable broadband access to the web from anywhere in big city US.

I just downloaded OAG to my wifes Palm. 12 Cities only but there is a much better package for the Palm VII fully wireless now on PCS but only at 14.4.

The PDA internet applications with permanently on feature I think will be phenomenal. For a start we will be able to access SI from anywhere without having to log in. Shopping, travelling, researching, videotainment, gambling, investing, goodness MM how much more goodies could you have?

As for the Internet on Cell phones well who eveer said that internet on cell phones was going to be big.

We here have always thought about mobile internet but not necessarily on cell phones as such. Was the PdQ a cellphone or a PDA?

My view is that cell phones will gradually die out as Palm/PDA devices take over when mobile braodband becomes available.

Build outs may take longer...well not necessarily. The build out contracts in Europe have started to be announced and they all seem to want to get on with installation asap.

Japan and the US are all underway so where is the delay?

Best regards,

L
