Robert,

" you can clip it to say what you want but the final resolution of BBs QQQ call remains to be seen"

That's why I gave the entire reference so people can see all of it if they choose to.

I clipped that particular point because revisionists (in a few weeks, months or years from now) will always want to make the QQQ trade a good one NO MATTER WHAT.

The opportunity cost of buying lower QQQ's is done, it's lost forever, gone, out-the-door, etc. That is what has caused this trade to be an "unmitigated bust". A 30% loss is a loss no matter if you make 8% six months later by staying the course.

I'm sorry I can't get you to understand the concept of opportunity cost and a trade gone awry.

=========

I suspect that many "pros" told people that the NAS was a great trade when it was at 5000. In your mind then, these people were also prescient because the NAS is likely to return to 5000. It may take years but it is likely to eventually make it there.

All these "pros" have to do is keep issuing new and lower entry points and keep pushing their timeframe out and they would be completely correct.

You are very forgiving.

"...remains to be seen."

After BB made his "go to cash" call in January, what happened? THE MARKET ROSE ANOTHER 25% BY MARCH!

Yet, by May, everyone was saying BB's January call was great. By the end of September, they were saying he's a genius.

So here we are, about half way through the 2-4 months in which BB expected gains from his October QQQ call. It will be interesting to see what people are saying at the end of this period, sometime around the 2nd week of February. (Well, "interesting" might not be the right word -- "predictable" is probably a better one!)

Btw, here's my take on the Big Picture:
