Her life sounds so sad- I hope it wasn't.

We have a tent revival that comes to our fairgrounds every summer. I've never gone; maybe I should this summer.

Last time I was at a tent revival was back in the summer of 19 and 64. I think maybe it's virtue about worn off, and time to refresh it.

slacks, which do not meet God's style demands

At my church, God has relaxed His dress code, allowing
women to wear slacks. He also permits them to carry a
cellphone in one hand and a skinny bottle of water in
the other.

Indeed a sad story about Rebecca, particularly with her
dying before realizing or fulfilling her dreams. I wonder
how she would have evaluated her life around the time of
your tent revival experience and later during her final
days. Having been involved with church singles for many
years, I've known a number of women in quite negative
circumstances (divorce, widowhood, financial problems,
medical difficulties, etc.) who seem to make the best of
their lives and credit much of their positive outlook to
their religious faith and support from their church family.
