Steve - There has been Nokia Communicator out for three years or so now but it works GSM and so is next to useless.

Most of the CDMA phones in the US will do some sort of internet. We have the ThinPhone but there are others and they have been around for about 2 years or so. CDMA phones are already digital equiped and so don't need modems.

Best regards,

L

<<So I take it you agree that there is no device on this earth that uses a SDMC card, but we hope there will be. And while we are hoping, we have no clear cut idea just what form that device will be, if it ever bees. Is that about it?>>

Yes and No.

Yes I have no clearcut idea what the device will be. That is why I have chosen QCOM as the primary investment vehicle into this space, with SNDK as a secondary choice. I expect the device(s) will need wireless access and subsequently will require removable storage.

No to "will it ever be?". No doubt in my mind. The only question is when, based on :

A) The carriers willingness to commit capital for the network upgrades.

B) The ability of individuals and businesses to develop the devices and content to utilize the advanced network capabilities. The demand is there now, IMO.

The economic backdrop, primarily in the US but certainly also the world, is probably the wild card for the above. I still see VC money targeted at the device and content areas. I have yet to see carriers delay network upgrades due to capital constraints. So far, so good!
