Ken,

As others have said, some new disturbance in the force is present. I do strongly suspect that even we have only a small idea how strained the system is presently. It may take months, who knows, perhaps many months, for a few bulkheads to blow and we see stories hit the popular press. By then we should be close to an implosion that guarantees to be fast and horrifying.

The spectre of diminishing equity returns and a slowing economy, while it may be worrisome to investors, but foreshadows the headliner event. If the dollar continues to slide, a better than even bet at this point I think, then I can not see how the equity markets can continue to do their part to prop-up a credit bubble so immense that it nearly defies description.
