Energy is typically a very "late cycle" play -- and it is living up to its billing. I wonder about the duration and intensity of this "slowdown" -- that is the wild card. The market is priced for something short and not too deep -- and the focus on interest rate cuts says that people are expecting a miracle instant cure (instant meaning in the next six months). This could be wishful thinking -- a new economy characteristic if there ever was one :) I went home long today - but by the end of next week I hope to be short again. Good luck.

"Was it all a mania that has "ended badly"?" Actually -- the answer is yes, LOL.

Sarmad do you know the date of OPEC's Jan mtg? There's a chance they may vote to cut production.
