Kapkan, RE: "I have my 401K in S&P 500"

That's a good diversification.

RE: "all the old INTC money in AMD"

Do you have any cov calls on these? What if AMD has a hard time raising money for a 3B fab? Money costs more these days. How much cash does AMD has? Is this for a short-term hold?

RE: "I have also started accumulating MSFT"

Probably a good move, if Brian Valentine (MS Win exec/eng) does to Sun what he did to Novell. Brian is an enterprising guy.

MS's headcount is still low (I think around 30k) and the Win2k should pick up steam. I think they will burn through some RND money until they realign the products, not sure how they will handle the stock option issues that they never had to face before, but MS is on sale. I think Linux is a pain and they'll need to get more serious about heading it off. I've still got some MS.

RE: "CPQ at these levels."

I never invest in box makers. Although, CPQ has some IP.

RE: "INTC...I will short it again in the high $30s"

Because you feel they may miss? I noticed your Q3 prediction was surprisingly dead-on. Care to make another prediction?

RE: "I think the roadmap sucks."

I don't see how you could like a desktop-only roadmap. That could be like the auto industry of the 80's all over again. I'd rather bet on a company that can take risk and move into high margin areas, like Servers. Network is a good area too.

What about AMD's long-term strategy and roadmap that you like? What is AMD going to do when it has no server products, no network products?

Regards,
Amy J

Aloha Kap, Re : "INTC is heading to $100B market cap by the end of 2001."

Do you honestly believe that could happen, without the overall market (Nasdaq and AMD) getting hammered down to about half their current level ?

Are you certain this is not wishful thinking on your part ?

Maui.
