So you didn't like Ford, huh? Actually he was one of the few Presidents I did like and I freely admit that I voted for him for re-election. As for WIN, I don't see that it was any less successful against inflation that the Carter policies that followed it. Since I think it was all demographics anyway, I don't blame either candidate for the results, any more than I credit Regan/Bush or Clinton/Gore for the more recent behavior of the economy.

As for the last half of your post, the mixed metaphors about accounting gimmicks, fires in theatres, stampedes, and the cavalry left me scratching my head. What exactly are you saying that Bush is doing, and what are you saying he should be doing?
