Mr X told me today that after he was elected the Shrub told someone as a "joke" that the best form of government was a benevolent despot- provided he, the Shrub, was the despot. Can anyone here tell me WHERE the Shrub made this rather outrageous comment?

No, Dan, that's not what I said. What I said is what I said. I usually say what I mean to say, and not something I meant to say but didn't actually say. I can tell you that I don't judge people based on their political leanings on a porch. Although my opinions in the area are strong, I have little interest in getting into an argument with you about clinical psychology or its medical adherents.

No, Tasteless humor of the sort which was posted should not be the domain of EITHER side. Some of the other side (the right) have suggested tasteless acts, and those are not to be tolerated either. Good humor is one thing, but suggestions of any sort of violence, whether suggested directly or indirectly by anyone, should be confronted using the same freedom of speech, but should not include any references to violence or harm to anyone.
