SE Wisconsin looks like we're finishing out Y2K with the second greatest December snowfall on record. 49+" only beaten in 1913 by a 52" month. I was shoveling off the first three feet of the roof this AM to clear way for melt from the deep snow further up. It's not the weight, but the insulation value of the snow. It tends to melt on the bottom even with only 20+ deg. outside. So, if one keeps it clear near the gutters, the melt at least makes it that far.
