While both W-CDMA and cdmaOne/cdma2000 are both implementations of a technology that predated QUALCOMM's commercialization of it, for wireless use, using synchronous control in a 1.25 MHz channel, I question (with an open mind) whether QCOM has base control of the base technology of W-CDMA. At this time, I tend to think not.
