3GSM

Well, to confuse things more, we have a new acronym in Wirelessland.

Eventually (and hopefully) UMTS and W-CDMA will give way to 3GSM.

What could be potentially confusing, however, is that 3GSM evidently does not necessarily mean "CDMA Inside".

Looks like it will - a concession to the Americas for starters. Theoretically EDGE makes sense where spectrum is constrained.
