Cha2, 3GSM Well, to confuse things more, we have a new acronym in Wirelessland. Eventually (and hopefully) UMTS and W-CDMA will give way to 3GSM. What could be potentially confusing, however, is that 3GSM evidently does not necessarily mean "CDMA Inside". >> GSMA has formally adopted 3GSM which is part of the GSM family of technologies, with 3GSM representing the third generation component. "3GSM is the TOTAL BUSINESS SOLUTION which delivers services at a technical level on standards for UMTS and, in some markets, EDGE, as defined by the 3GPP." << << EDGE (perhaps, if it happens) in GSM land >> Looks like it will - a concession to the Americas for starters.
