Assume 3GSM will be the new basket designation to include both UMTS (with CDMA inside) and EDGE (without CDMA inside) Ah the joy of winning the public with nomenclature. "3GSM which is part of the GSM family of technologies, with 3GSM representing the third generation component. "3GSM is the TOTAL BUSINESS SOLUTION which delivers services at a technical level on standards for UMTS and, in some markets, EDGE, as defined by the 3GPP." Perhaps the only slight good news in this (and as you know I always look for that as the glass half full guy I am) is the phrase near the end ""and, in some markets, EDGE, as defined by the 3GPP"": Perhaps the "some markets" will be relatively limited - and possibly relatively transient - who knows. Thanks (I guess). Best as alwasys. Cha2 PS Curious what the content and meaning of the """TOTAL BUSINESS SOLUTION""" is. Assume we will find out eventually. PPS Maybe this new label to timed to offset news of CDMA in China ! Will watch China with interest.
