Exactly how this was supposed to happen
You answer your own proposal. The decision was obviously meant to stop the valid election vote count. It took them all sorts of papers to try and rationalize it, but for all the weasle words they just said stop it, we don't know why you should, but stop it.

Their little 7/2 vote was on an equal protection topic which is violated by having any two counties have different voting or counting methods. That's why they all went home without explanation. They added more weasle words to say that they only mean this ruling to apply to this one case. The chief justice was trying to disavow the whole thing last week. It's a very sad and shameful time for a formerly esteemed institution.

There was a 7-2 majority that said the Florida Supreme Court's recount violated the due process and equal protection clauses of the US Constitution. The 5-4 vote was in regards to the remedy.

I think we have to give this up. I think the problem is he can't count past 5. He has been told this at least 5+4+4+3 times and he still insists it happened his way.
