Let the Speculation Games begin.

No offense Maurice but I think it high time for Jack Welch to show Rupert who the real King of the World is. Here is my speculative play of the day.

Globalstar GP and 20% of the LP will be swapped to LMT by Loral for LMT's 47 million LOR shares. GE Americom announces a merger with Loral Space in the neighborhood of 13.00 per share of Loral and simultaneosly announces a merger with Echostar for a decent premium. GE announces they will spin Americom which will house Global Alliance,Americom birds, Echostar,Cyberstar, 20% of G* and will set in place the fruition of Bernards original plan.

It's nice that you point out one of the advantages of a democratic republic over a democracy by referring to Roe vrs. Wade. The founding fathers saw the advantages and disadvantages of democracy and tried to deal with them. The amendments to the constitution are attempts to improve on it.
Perhaps you should recognize that the problem with the Bush/Gore election is that many outdated counting machines regularly discard about 2% of the ballots but no one wants to face this de facto disenfranchisement since it would cost money to solve. In most elections this is not a problem but thanks to Gore's mismanagement of the election(he lost Clinton's and his own state, he didn't spot the butterfly ballot, he went for a partial recount instead of a full Florida recount, and so on) the vote was so close that these discarded ballots were decisive. So a manual recount of the Florida vote was needed. Neither side was interested in that and therefore not interested in 1 man 1 vote. If one listened to the arguments presented in the courts this became very clear. The Florida Supreme could have ordered a complete recount as well, but didn't. The USSC said there wasn't time for a complete recount. This, for me, is the tragedy.
