did you ever think that rmbs may be close to a deal with hyundai and greased the ways a little bit? as far as mu and inf. gaining a 2% advantage . pennywise and dollar foolish. ask youself, who would i rather be, mu or samsung? samsung is moving upward and onward and mu is saving(temporarily, till they must pay back royalities and fines)a lousey 2% . if i was on mu board i'd be loping off heads. if inf. comes to terms , mu is in dire straights.( and rmbs sets new highs) rocky

Carl,

It seems like Micron, Infineon and Hyundai now have a mutual reason to not push for a completion of the trials....Micron, Infineon and Hyundai get a 2% pricing advantage against the companies that signed early.

This is during a period where DDR sales are minimal. Weighed against the risk of paying not only back royalties but also damages, as well as the risk of not getting as favorable a royalty rate down the road (and, of course, we won't even mention the risk of not being able to produce DDR at all), this would be a pretty short-sighted, cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face attitude to adopt. It would be in their best interest to get things resolved as quickly as possible.

Dave
