Cynic 2005 you need to dig a little deeper than that...

Maybe what you really want is depression and pain but your argument is only skin deep and almost untenable...

<<The very productivity gains you are talking about are available to you and your competition, which doesn't put you at any advantageous position over your competition.>>

You miss this point badly I think when you say competition are you refering to corporations or countries? I am refering to countries and thier currency.

<<There are always exceptions but it will be nearly impossible for technology driven productivity gains to tame inflation>>

Not true, technology driven productitvity means that less man hours are needed to produce the same end result...For example do you not agree that I using a steam shovel will be able to dig a basement quicker an more efficiently than you and a crew of 30 laborers with shovels?

<<If the supply and demand picture has an imbalance towards demand side, you will have no inflation.>>

I think that is 100% backwards...As demand exceeds supply competition creates inflation for the same good or services.

I lost the editing window (SI sucks):

<<If the supply and demand picture has an imbalance towards demand side, you will have no inflation. >>

should read:

<<If the supply and demand picture has an imbalance towards demand side, you will have inflation. >>
