On the local late news last night a natural gas power generator in southern Washington was sending out big bills due to the obvious. Anyway in between Aunt Martha crying about her $10 a month increase the newscaster said that the reason for the hefty increases in natural gas prices was due to deregulation in California.

Where do these guys get this stuff is my question? It seems not only the public but now the media have very little clue as to what is really going on.

Why would anyone ever think it might be due to the law of supply and demand. Deregulation is necessary unless the public is willing to foot the bill for upgrading the infrastructure that California so desperately needs. Hell Californians won't even pay to keep their schools up why would they want to pay for their electrical mess.

The truth of the matter is those two power companies are going to be allowed to go bankrupt and so a judge will try to figure out the mess. And during bankruptcy who pre-tell is going to sell power to these utilities? BPA will be forced to I assume but wait were supposed to receive power from CA in February. What now?

Sorry for my rant but this mess has yet to even begin to play out. Glad I'm leaving town for a few weeks. I'll study the problem from my lounge chair sipping on a Coor's light.
