Of course, fundamental is different. But I dont think it is completely different. In fact, the world economy was in a much worse shape in 1998. If it were not for the Fed, most people believe US would for sure slip into recessions back then. When I said we will see 1998 pattern again, I did not mean NASDAQ will jump double from its low in 12 months (like it did from Oct 1998 to Oct 1999), I meant that Fed's wise movement signals the start of a new trend. All we need now is a follow-up cut in Jan 31st.
