Agreed. Japan does not have the free-wheeling market economy we do. Their efforts at the redeployment of assets have been similar to the speed governments move to correct failed programs.

I agree. I however think we also have are own issues. 1)overvalued dollar 2)Trade imbalance and debt 3)huge consumer and corporate debt load. I also think US Banks have a lotof questionable assets on their books and alot of bad Teleco debt to deal with. I am in NO WAY saying we will get nearly as bad as JAPAN. However a 2-3 year Bear market sideways and retest lows kinda enviroment is not out of the question.
