Hi Dave, Welcome back. I think you missed your chance at the 14,000th Post while you were away! Steve Grabczyk managed that one way to easily.

Well, here we are just 773 posts away from the next award, so stay tuned!......

In this week's newsletter I put a table showing the three month change in the NASDAQ composite after a bullish reading from my Speculation Index.
aim-users.com (about half way down the page)
What I forgot to mention was that in each of those previous events, some different economic focal point had driven the stock market down and boiled off all speculation. It was never the same event twice that wreaked havoc on the indexes. What's common is that after we finally saw a Bullish signal, three months later the market was again very content with nice appreciation in the NASDAQ Composite.

This time it was stinky economic news, Hang-over from the "Bubble", Election trauma and high interest rates. Next time it will be something else or some other combination. The nice thing is that usually the bashing is pretty much over when we get that Bullish signal. I think we're there again. I'm looking forward to a double digit gain in the NASDAQ from here.

Keith and the rest of the ArkansasAIMers discussed this during their meeting this evening. They allowed me to sit in on their discussion. Lots of fun.

Best regards, Tom

Morning Dave, 2001 is rewarding in every way.

It sure is starting out that way. I always get wound up with the New Year and the New Resolutions. One resolution I repeat every year is to read six good books. That is only one every two months but some how I only manage two to three in a years time.

That is why I wanted to thank you for recommending Security Analysis. It's gonna take a while to get through it and I'm looking forward to every page.

Last night was the 1st Club meeting for the New Year of the AIM Gang - Red Neck Division. Tom was kind enough to go down to his office and let me hook him up on the speaker phone for questions from our members.

Tom not only has a mind like a steel trap, in addition his manor of speaking is highly motivational. We had tossed around the idea of holding a group meeting via AOL Instant Messenger. That is still a good idea for us that are scattered around the country, but when you can coral a group such as ours it is much more spontaneous and rewarding to be live on the phone. I still vision a point in the future where we will have the mic's and camera's hooked to our PC's and receive even more benefits with the visual aspect.

I too and impressed on a consistent basis with the quality and sincerity of the posts on this thread. There are several a week that I have to print out for further review at a latter time. Trying to file them in a logical manor for future reference is the hardest part. <smile>
