It is simply unbelievable that some folks would support the violation of an individual's rights. Each of us owns our bodies, and one of the few legitimate functions of gov't is to preserve those property rights. The position that such rights are given up to those who happen to be related is completely unsupportable by any rational line of thought.

I hope that anyone reading this thread won't get the mistaken impression that anyone who supports the right to assault or commit violence against others in any circumstance is arguing the Libertarian position.

Regards,

Barb

I thought I made my opinion fairly clear, Christopher. Don't try to yank me to an extreme, and then expect me to defend it.

"I support the idea of limited gov't," sez I.

"Well then, you are a total anarchist, and want people to roam around killing and raping at random," sez Christopher.

Not exactly what I said, amigo. The vast majority of cases of "domestic violence" border on the ludicrous insofar as gov't involvement is concerned. Instead of trying to make an extreme case seem to be the norm, how about keeping the discussion where it belongs.
