Could this be just the older generation b**ching about the younger again? (NOTE: I qualify as an old fogey myself.)

I rememeber my parents and other adults considered Elvis, then the Beatles, trashy, garbage, dirty, and "certainly not music". I remember being laughed at when I said the Beatles would become classics.

The purpose of teenagers is to irritate their parents.

OTOH, there was a LOT of trash produced back then that is completely forgottern now.

Not so! In fact, I was going to refer you to the greatest living painter in the western world, but when I searched the Internet for some links, I found out he passed away about 9 months ago.

I was fortunate enough to spend some time with him and his family on several occasions. You would have to see the actual paintings to appreciate his skill; photographs don't come close, and the Internet is useful simply to get the idea of his subject matter. The man was as good a painter as Jan van Eyvk and a better painter than Vermeer.
