Andreas-- It is almost a toss-up. I'll TRY to hold FTU while CPQ will remain a trading vehicle. Both are supposed turn-arounds BUT the word on boxmakers (where cpq is lumped --- like it, brlieve it or not) is cautionary at best and down right negative at worst while financials should do well on rate decreases from Uncle Al. Now there is positive talk on financials and FTU in particular so thats where I'll throw my dart. Since I have a habilt of picking the wrong one most of the time I'd certainly not suggest anyone follow.

Andreas,
ftu is called fu in my area. They bought Core States Bank and then drove a lot of clients away. Other banks in the area have have done well and some small community banks have been started as a result.

Dear Andreas: Unfortunately, I am not convinced that FTU is not still a train wreck, present rather than past tense:
"In any event, ftu was a train wreck."

"Yea I know, it sounds like cpq."

Actually, our CPQ has never faced the same internal problems that seem to plague FTU. As you correctly note, the CEO of FTU did step down recently. The stated reason was cancer, **but** I have been told by a few people that this was used as an excuse to step down rather than face public humiliation getting the boot.

Regards,

Lynn
