The 'who is Globalstar for' discussion and whether Jon, Baha Bugs, Rich Stupid Businessmen, Vertical Oil Employees or Horizontal Holiday Makers is irrelevant. Anyone who bought one so far fits the target market profile. That is a wide-range of types [yes, I am guessing but we do have some information]. All that needs doing is increase the marketing pressure by advertizing, price cutting, tailoring offers, increasing roaming options, information availability and so on, until the demand for phones doesn't match the supply. Fiddling around too much with 'target market' definition is a waste of time. Sales people will soon figure out where they can score easily. Yes, I know advertising needs to be targeted. Part of the attraction of the public broadcast for the Baha Bugs, and other CB-types, is to hear all that's going on and to feel part of it all. A private Globalstar call would spoil the fun. No more 'Breaker, breaker 10-4 y'all'. Well, not unless Globalstar gets Condor going with speaker phones in car kits. But some of them would want to have BOTH available. If they have the money, they will. They don't want to chat up the guy in the nearby caravan on CB [citizen's band] - their husband might be listening. They could say 'Breaker, breaker, 10-4, mag wheels diesel 4x4 intercooled turbo, Dancer gonna lay over under the shade of a coolibah tree for a snooze...over and out...' then get on the Globalstar phone and arrange to meet 'Breaker Bill' in a wadi somewhere for discussions about the big election he has.
