I don't see my position on guns as being very liberal. What I enjoy about talking to reasonable people is that they often have very complex views of the world, and interesting reasons for having them. Your view of gun ownership may not be "liberal" but you have your reasons and you don't call those who disagree with you sick or degenerate. Your point about how gun violence is portrayed in the media is an excellent one, IMO. A pop of a gun causes a quick, neat end to "evil" too often in films and tv. There's little reality there.
