Neocon, No, she says it comes up often and right in front of her. She said it so matter-of-factly that I was really shocked. I questioned her on it and she said its not just one or two kids, its a bunch. Kids laugh about the fact that their parents smoke. I interpreted it along the lines of "dad has a beer when he watches football". Just substitute joint for beer. She teaches on the East side of Detroit in a mostly white neighborhood. Lower middle class. I don't think its too far from the truth. Like I said, by the seventh grade I had a working knowledge of at least five different drugs that were being used. Pot, speed, rush (amyle nitrate-sorry on the spelling), hash, and something called "Pink****" (which I think was a popular name for a barb). This was less than 25 years ago, so it is not a big leap for me to think that they have knowledge two grades lower. The problem is big. We just hide it really well. HAGO TH
