Robin Davey;

I disagree. There seems to be a lot of confusion about the so-called quiet period. Earnings warnings are quite possible and are routine during the 30 days period before earnings release. Earnings warnings are not a part of the "quiet period". Just watch the earnings warnings in the next couple of weeks despite the fact that earnings will be released by those companies warning within a couple of weeks after their warning.

Robin... Of course he can guide further down at this time if he feels he should. He can say ANYTHING he wants during quiet period, as long as he says it to everyone at the same time by way of a press release or public statement. Quiet period used to prohibit selective dissemination of information, which has been tightened up on anyway. Remember when they warned on a Friday at 6pm about a week before earnings two years ago? El
