hi tig

i regret to say that i can not be of much help. i just don't have the knowledge and experience with excel. and rather than cast about unproductively, i must defer to the stronger excel participants here.

if no answers are forthcoming, we'll figure something out, but let's see what responses your query turns up.

:)

Not too sure but I don't thind it really matters which OS you are using but which version of excel were the macros written in. Also were you on a network with either machine so that shareing might screw the files. I recently had a case that told me I was using the program and it wouldn't let me in had to rename and save to reopen.

Tigress

I'm not sure this is your problem but are different versions of excel being used. Later versions of excel can read earlier versions but not vice versus, ie excel 2000 can read a file made in excel 97 but not the other way around. If the file was made on the later version it will have to be saved in a format that the earlier version can decipher.
