Pierre: <If the EMTs do the transporting, the mountain is without EMTs for the 2 1/2 to 3 hours it takes to get to a hospital and back to the mountain.>

I didn't mean that the Mountain EMT crew would actually transport the guy to the hospital (Escondido).. I simply meant that the EMT's carry some sort of "streatcher".. And that most EMS services would of at least stuck the guy on a "streatcher" and got him off the ground for 2 hours! What did these EMT's do.. Show up.. Say.. Gee sorry you leg is broken, So were goin' back in the truck and have a cup of coffee? I think that most EMT's would have at least got the guy of the ground and gave him a blanket and pillow, and maybe even try to "immobilize" the leg?? Maybe??? I mean after all.. It was just a broken leg!! I mean if this is the extent of the services that the Mountain EMS Services really provide, then I guess it really wouldn't hurt to be without them for a couple of hours for them to transport the guy to the hospital!! God forbid that something more serious were to happen up there..

After a paniced call, the EMT's arrive on the scene, with the patient "experiencing a hart attack".. The EMT's simply call for an ambulance, and go get a cup of Joe.
