elmatador- Assuming we are speaking of consumer wired voice lines...

For the first time, I saw one of many of our local wireless SPs offer free unlimited local calling. It was the first time I had seen a fixed line replacement type of advertisement. It was for $50/month. If they are smart, they would only market this heavily to single people.

If a family elects to go with this solution and opt not to subscribe to the fixed line, then one obvious problem that immediately comes to mind--4.5 members per average household. Each member would need a wireless SP contract because if one member had the service to replace their fixed line, what happens if that member drives away in the car leaving 3.5 other members without a phone?

With a $15/month fixed line payment, a household can have 50 phones ring in the house for the same payment. -MikeM(From Florida)
