You have made some very interesting comments in your last few posts. I travel a lot but also have a home from which I do most of my work. The fixed lines will not go away.

Only about a year or so ago I was paying $2.58 per minute for an international call to Africa from my fixed line, it costs me $.25 today (cellphone costs the same), calls to Australia cost $.12 per minute etc. When I travel to Africa I do not take my USA cellphone with me but rent one locally because with the strong dollar it is much more economical paying for the sevice in local currency. We live in the sticks so do not have dsl or anything similar, but I know it will get here.
Copper is here to stay, just like train technology, they thought it would go away when the mobile vehicle came around - not!
