"Plant a seed and it will grow."

Absolutely. My son has been tracking his stocks with intermittent interest for the last three years - although at 9 things like computer games and movies and lego are more his speed. Probably helps I haven't explained the value. He still thinks $10 is a small fortune and I hope to keep it this way for a long time.

His bias is LTBH to the core. So once a stock goes in, he is adamant that we can't sell. A veritable "Stock Motel".

It was eye opening when I gave him shares of "my" company - and took the time to explain how this means his dad is working for him. Made what I do real for him and he has been following it from "concept" to existence and now to an official piece of paper that is his.

Helped some times with the long hours. Others may find this useful for little kids too.

Kinda frightening if you ask me that on paper my son could buy the house we live in... I only hope he learns responsibility commensurate with this ability....

John.
