Crucial, a subsidary of Micron, is currently selling DDR memory at same price as SDRAM. PC demand is so slow that Micron is willing to sell any type of DRAM to anyone even at a loss.

Nice fantasy. I posted this three months ago:

"DDR is now for sale at Crucial with a whopping 0% price premium over PC133. (Micron said the more expensive DDR might come at a 5% price premium.)"

Over the next year or two the P4 ramp is critical. If it is shipping in 50% of the PC's buy the year end (2001) it will change the economics of the DRAM business. This shift will hurt the litigants most.
