I am refering to your "Virtual Memory"

Windows will "Swap" RAM to the hard drive.

Your Virtual settings are in Control Panel / System / Performance.

More than likely windows is controlling size and you should leave it that way...

If you are lacking in free drive space the swapping will be more often hence slowing the system. It will also tend to defrag your drive and possibly cause lost chains.

Have you ever run "scandisk" from the Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools menu? If not I would reccomend you do it overnight (Thorough Mode and fix errors) and check it after about 15-30mins. If a message comes up saying that it restarted 10 times do you wish to recieve this message again say "no" and let it run. If it restarts that many times you may have some lost chains in your FAT table.
