When I first start my system now I am at 74% free. That is before opening any programs I need. When I open the minimum of what I need I am at 24% free.

Minimum is:

Qcharts
IE – Silicon Investor
MS Outlook
BestDirect
BestDriect Quick Trade Window
AIM
TeachTrade Update Window
MS Excel

And that does not account for the number of times during a day I open other programs for work, tax programs, MS Word and so on.

In my startup are the following with commentary by me:

Taskbar Display Controls RunDLL deskcp16.dll, QUICKRES_RUNDLLENTRY

No idea what this is, but it sounds important.

AIM C:PROGRAM FILES\AIM95\aim.exe-cnetwait.odl

I use this program during the day.

BillMinder C:\QWSE\BILLMIND.EXE

This reminds me of bills I have due and I exit this program right away as it is way to scary!

Gator c:\program files\Gator.com\Gator\Gator.exe

A neat little password program. I could delete if necessary, but it is kinda nice.

ScanRegistry c:\windows\scanregw.exe /autorun

No clue, but if it is registry related I prefer not to mess with it.

TaskMonitor c:\windows\taskmon.exe

Have often wondered what this is and why it is running.

POINTER point32.exe

See comment above.

QBCD Autorun D:\autorun.exe restart TIMER_SEQUENCE first

No clue.

RNBOStart C:\Windows\system\RNBOSEENT\SENTSTRT.EXE

No clue.

SchedulingAgent mstask.exe

No clue.

TrueVector C:\Windows\system\zonelabs\vsmon.exe –service

I assume this is necessary to run my personal firewall from ZONELABS.

MiniLog C:\windows\system\zonelabs\minilog.exe –service

See comment above.

ZoneAlarm C;\Progra~1\zonela~1\zoneal~1\Zoneal~1.exe

Personal Firewall.

QuickBooks Delivery Agent C:\progra~1\Intuit\quickb~1\compon~1\qbagent\qbdagent.exe

This will be removed. I hate quick books, but that is another discussion.

Drwatson C:\windows\drwatson.exe

I loaded this when I was having Netscape trouble. The only thing I get from it is that when a program blows up, it appears to be the case that there is an illegal memory access error. I can probably remove this as well.

Thoughts computer experts?

Scott

PS - I opened Word to compose this post and after doing so, my system is at 18%.
