Rarebird,

That was a very moving post, beautifully stated. Thank you for having the courage of your convictions.

I had made a conscious decision at the time to go to Canada and finish my education if I was called.

Rarebird, I appreciate your telling that story. A few years ago a friend startled me by relaying that he had refused induction and served time. May I ask if you ever considered that option and what you think about it?

Karen

As Poet so aptly pointed out, we all have differing views from our different vantage points... my opinion doesn't change things here or then... I agree the Vietnam policy was fatally flawed, it was all controlled back at the White House where Johnson called all the shots and contained the fighting... it was a compromise doomed to failure... we should have fought all out to win without playing tiddly winks as we did, military generals like Westmoreland should have run the military and not Johnson.....

Are we done with Vietnam, I feel like we're beating a dead horse.....<g> let's fast forward to today, there's plenty to bicker about today without going back to ancient history.....<g> I don't live back there, I live here.....

Anyhow, it looks like these markets are about poised for a decent rally beginning maybe even today... the advances and declines have greatly improved over the past week and the new high vs. new lows is very bullish, almost ten to one on new highs for the NYSE.....

Best Regards,

GZ
