They ran the WHite House but they didn't have control of all houses of gov't. One party in control of both houses and the White House is where someone's agenda gets "shoved down your throat unabated". In that lies serious danger. Bush's cabinet choices show him to be right wing and not moderate. He ran as a moderate and moved to the right immediately after he had the election stolen. ALready........he has lied about his true intentions. I believe nothing he says. Ashcroft as AG is a clear indication of where Bush is going.............far right of center.
