Frank, I love Matt Simmons, he is one of the best oil analysts in the business bar none. But he is not known as the "perennial oil bull" for nothing. By his own admission, that last Asian crises took him completely by surprise.

I hope all you folks make money by the bucketfull.

Later.

Bull

On the catious side you could include the possibility of 2 new (previously mothballed) LNG terminals opening. Originally scheduled to open in 2002, plans may (should) be accelerated. The currently working LA terminal has a capacity of something like 700mmcfd, nothing to sneeze at. This will affect prices when firm dates are given and contracts made. Not this winter, but next, maybe earlier.

Hi Frank! So you expect GW to benefit, eh? Thanks pal! That insight came a day after I sold. (Just kidding Frank!)

The most significant of your bullish points, in my opinion, is >> (3)increased NG fired electrical generation <<

Higher demand, and on an increasingly consistent basis, is a lock since many of the new plants did not allow for switching fuels, if I recall correctly.

It's those plants that will bring me back into the patch once the futures prices settle down.

Thanks for your contributions and insights to the thread.
