CREE vs SNDK : similar in more ways than one

1) Shares outstanding 71.4m vs 67.3m
2) Share prices $34-3/4 vs $35-3/4
3) Market cap. 2.5B vs 2.4B

They're off to the races together - it would be very interesting to see which finishes ahead at various points in time in the future, ie. a year, two years, three years, etc.

They're also my two most favorite stocks.

Ok. What's preventing flash memory from becoming larger scale and permanent storage? I wasn't talking just about flash cards. I was thinking longer term that flash memory could (with technological advances not made yet) replace rotating magnetic media.

That is, two innovations are then required. One to make flash robust (permanent), and another to make it scale well. I would assume neither is easy. What I don't know is if either/both are possible.

Thanks,
