I don't really care to send the criminals to school at my expense,

Educating prison inmates is one of those things that I would voluntarily throw dollars at. If prisons are about rehabilitation, and if we are going to eventually let them out of prison, it should be, then self sufficiency has to be an absolute priority.

My impulse, my basest impulse, is friggin' wipe em. I am worried about application. (I was going to say execution, but... <g>)

Just as in righting the wrongs of discrimination I know the wrong must be righted. I'm looking for the fairest way.

I just have trouble with which ones are eligible for termination. And with people found innocent. And of course for murderers, do two wrongs make a right? (That phrase again/still.)

I certainly wouldn't go for public executions. Didn't one of your buddies suggest a public lynching of Keanu Reaves? I would support that only for his bad acting. <g>

I remember discussing the death penalty with my grandfather, a very conservative man. He was opposed to it, and I found that surprising. I asked him why, and he said:

Sometimes they get the wrong guy....

I found that pretty hard to argue with.

Should a necessarily imperfect system be allowed to impose an irrevocable penalty?
