Rande I believe ALL-OPTIC switch from CORVIS is in the market. Broadwing currently deploying it, as well as williams and qwest are in current trials. So perhaps its not accepted in the market space yet, but either was JNPR's router's 2 years ago, or AVCI's router. The lag time in contract announcements are about 3-6 months fron initial testing and also the trials are SECRET. So if DT had a current trial it may not be known to the public.

But NO-ONE else has ALL-OPTICAL switch at the manufacturing stage which is currently undergoing tests from customers!

<<In fact, speculation has
even been raised that Corning's latest advancements
in fiber technology potentially eliminates the need for
regeneration, making Corvis' solution possibly
obsolete. If true, this would vividly demonstrate the
risks of investing in emergent-technology companies.
Corvis holds a wild card with this product, but it could
end up worthless.>>
